Frequently asked questions
Is laparoscopic surgery safe?
Yes. Laparoscopic surgery is today's standard for many abdominal conditions. It is performed through small incisions with high-definition magnified vision and strict safety protocols, reducing risk, pain, and recovery time compared to open surgery.
How long does recovery take?
It depends on the procedure and each patient, but after most laparoscopic surgeries patients return to daily activities within 1 to 2 weeks. In consultation I explain in detail what to expect in your specific case.
Are the scars large?
No. In laparoscopic surgery incisions typically measure 5 to 12 millimeters. Over time they become barely visible, with a much better cosmetic result than traditional surgery.
What tests do I need before surgery?
Generally lab work, an ultrasound or other imaging, and a preoperative evaluation. In your consultation we review which tests you already have and which are still needed to operate safely.
Do you work with medical insurance?
Yes, I work with the main major medical insurance providers. Send me a message with your insurer's name and we will gladly guide you through the process.
At which hospitals do you operate?
I perform procedures at Centro Quirúrgico de Lourdes, Centro Quirúrgico EMA, and Star Médica in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. The hospital is chosen with you based on your case and your insurance.
Do you need an evaluation for gallbladder, hernia, or another surgical condition?
If you have pain, abnormal test results, or were told you might need surgery, book an evaluation to review your case calmly.
