Surgical emergencies in Ciudad Juárez

Appendicitis, severe infections, abscesses, and intussusception

When abdominal pain is intense or there are signs of severe infection, action must be quick. I evaluate the case and, if needed, operate with the safest approach for you.

Warning signs you should not ignore

  • Intense abdominal pain that does not improve or worsens within hours
  • Pain that starts near the navel and settles on the right side (possible appendicitis)
  • Fever, nausea, or vomiting with the pain
  • A hard abdomen that is very tender to touch
  • Redness, warmth, or drainage from a wound or inflamed area (abscess)
  • Marked weakness, dizziness, or feeling severely unwell

Why not wait with these symptoms?

  • Appendicitis and severe infections progress quickly
  • Timely care prevents major complications
  • Prompt surgery reduces risk and hospital stay

How is a surgical emergency managed?

Frequently asked questions

What should I do if I suspect appendicitis?

Do not take strong painkillers without evaluation or wait for it to “go away.” Seek care or the ER. Timely diagnosis prevents perforation and peritonitis.

Is every emergency done laparoscopically?

When it is safe and feasible, yes. Advanced infection or complex anatomy may require another technique. We decide based on findings.

Do you treat abscesses and soft-tissue infections?

Yes. Many abscesses need surgical drainage plus antibiotics. An undrained infection can worsen even with medication.
